Introducing Código 1530: El Tequila Privado
When it comes to tequila, those who truly understand the spirit know it’s more than just a drink—it’s a legacy. Código 1530, also known as El Tequila Privado, offers a rare glimpse into this tradition, sharing a once-private recipe cherished by the most respected families and jimadors of Los Bajos, Mexico. With its roots in heritage and a commitment to perfection, Código 1530 redefines what it means to savor premium tequila.
A Heritage Born in Amatitán
In the heart of Amatitán, where agave fields stretch under the Jalisco sun, Código 1530 was born. For generations, this tequila was a guarded treasure, crafted only for private enjoyment by a select few. These small batches followed “Los Códigos”, the old-world codes and customs of artisan tequileros, ensuring a spirit of unmatched quality and authenticity.
The name “Código 1530” reflects this proud history, honoring the Jerusalem Cross found on the Jalisco Coat of Arms, a symbol dating back to 1530. This emblem represents not only the tequila’s heritage but also its meticulous craftsmanship.
What Makes Código 1530 Unique?
1. Uncompromising Ingredients
Código 1530 begins with hand-selected, fully matured Weber Blue Agave from the Los Bajos region. The agave’s Brix level (sugar content) is carefully measured to ensure only the sweetest, ripest plants make it into the process. The water used is equally pure, drawn from freshwater pools and rainwater naturally filtered through volcanic soil.
2. Innovative Yet Traditional Production
While Código 1530 honors time-honored traditions, its production process embraces modern refinements:
Agave is slow-cooked in stainless steel ovens for a clean flavor profile.
A proprietary chopper extracts the purest juice and pulp from the agave’s first press.
Local yeast, unique to the region, facilitates fermentation, enhancing the authentic flavor.
3. Aged in Napa Valley Wine Barrels
Breaking from convention, Código 1530’s rested tequilas are aged in French White Oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet. This innovative choice imparts subtle notes of red fruit and delicate tannins, resulting in an elegant finish that sets Código 1530 apart from tequilas aged in American whiskey barrels.
The Código 1530 Collection
Código 1530 offers a versatile range of tequilas, each crafted to perfection:
Blanco: Pure and unaged, perfected over a 15-day process to showcase the clean, bright flavors of the agave.
Rosa: Unique for its blush color, derived from a short aging period in wine barrels.
Reposado: Rested for months, offering a balanced profile of agave and oak.
Añejo: Aged for over a year to develop rich, complex flavors.
Origen: An Extra Añejo masterpiece, aged for six years for unparalleled depth and character.
